Hidden gem in Trieste!Very unique dining experience.Seafood was excellent quality and perfectly cooked.

Excellent food. One-man-show. Chef and waiter (one person) takes cares about everything as a best restaurant owner.Only fresh ingredients to prepare dinner of the day. No choice for the visitors and excellent experience guaranteed

Book ahead. No menu and you are given what the chef/owner and his wife give you, so go with an open mind. Seafood/fish based meal about 40 euro pp.Delicious and fresh pastas and whole fish! Highly recommend!

Be careful! As tourist you might not get the menu so you don't know the exact price and you get your bill written on the table sheet. However dinner of 2 main courses and 2 bottles of wine for 5 persons was exactly 150 euros. And we were glad to pay every single cent.

Dining at this small, unassuming restaurant was a pleasure and a lovely end to our stay in Trieste. We went with the handmade pasta with tomatoes and prawns. The chewy, al dente consistency was unlike any pasta we had had, and the sauce was so rich and flavourful, I could not resist mopping it up with bread. Next was the grilled fish, served with potatoes, squid and a delectable mash of vegetables. We rounded off our meal with chocolate cake and raspberry ice cream. With a glass of white wine each, the bill for two came up to 70 euros. Not cheap but given the homely, unpretentious cooking and generous portions, we left satisfied and bursting at the seams. Book ahead as the place is small and rather popular among locals and tourists; we saw a couple of people being turned away while we were there.

Fixed menu. The food was out of this world. One of the best experiences in my life.

Will preface that we found this place thru our tour guide giovanni who invited us to his friend’s Paulo’s restaurant on his bday!! So the lower prices may be a one off due to the special occasion/through mutuals.Truly a lovely, authentic, cosy spot for triestan food. The chef decides the menu and eveeything was homey and delicious.For everything we got: a bottle of wine, bread, mixed raw fish platter, handmade ravioli , grilled fish, fruits, grappa 40 euros each (we were party of 3)!! It was the perfect quintessential authentic italian dining experience you could ask for. With lots of food, endless drinks, music, and Paolo joining in on the fun and singing… definitely one of the best places i’ve ever been to.Happy birthday Paolo! Thank you for having us on your bday truly an inspiration to see someone do what they love even at an older age.
